When the Habs acquired Ben Scrivens last week, the writing seemed to be on the wall for Dustin Tokarski in that his future was going to be elsewhere. That was made official on Thursday as he was sent to Anaheim for winger Max Friberg.
After the Habs told Zack Kassian not to report to the minors, many speculated a trade was near completion. That deal is done now as the Canadiens have flipped him to Edmonton in exchange for goalie Ben Scrivens.
On Tuesday, Habs GM Marc Bergevin made his first trade of the season, sending right winger Christian Thomas to the Arizona Coyotes. In return, the Canadiens acquire winger Lucas Lessio.
The Habs were busy in the trade department on Wednesday, as they acquired RW Zack Kassian from Vancouver along with a 2016 5th round pick. In return, the Canucks acquire Brandon Prust.
