Expectations were high for Max Pacioretty last season after being named team captain but inconsistency and Montreal’s struggles made his year somewhat of a disappointment. Will he be in better form in 2016-17?
On Friday morning, the Habs announced that Max Pacioretty is the new captain of the team following a player vote. He becomes Montreal’s 29th captain in franchise history and the third American-born player to have the honour.
For the last two years, Max Pacioretty has been Montreal’s top goal getter although he has failed to hit the elusive 40-goal plateau. It seems all but certain he’ll lead the team again in 2015-16 but will this be the season he gets 40 tallies?
