The Habs were looking to kick off their weekend with a win as they hosted Edmonton on Saturday afternoon. They were able to score early and often and picked up their first victory of the month, beating the Oilers 5-1.
January was a good month for some Montreal prospects but a bad one for others. Many struggled in St. John’s but there were several other players in the lower levels that put forth some strong performances.
On Monday night, the Habs went into Columbus looking to record two straight wins for the first time in two months. Unfortunately, the drought lives on as the Blue Jackets picked up a 5-2 victory.

The New Year brought new life to the Habs as they played one of their best games in quite some time at the Winter Classic as they beat the hometown Bruins 5-1 in front of over 67,000 fans at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

The month of October wasn’t just a good one for the Habs. Their AHL affiliate in St. John’s also had a strong start to their season while several of Montreal’s junior/international prospects had strong efforts as well.
Montreal’s quest to tie an NHL-best 10-0 start to the season fell by the wayside on Tuesday night as they suffered their first loss of the season, 5-1 at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks.
The Habs were looking to spoil their second home opener of the season on Sunday night as they took on Ottawa. They were able to do that on the backs of Tomas Plekanec and Mike Condon as the Canadiens improved to 3-0 with a 3-1 victory.
