The 2021-22 season was a rough one for the Habs although they were able to end it on a high note, winning both of their games while still being able to lock down the top odds in the upcoming draft lottery.
One day after wrapping up their season, the Habs were packing up for the summer while making their final media appearances. Here’s a rundown of the notable news.
It has undoubtedly been a tough season for the Habs but in their final game of the season on Friday night, they ended things on quite a high note, defeating Florida by a 10-2 score.
Jeff Petry scored two on great shots and that was the difference on Wednesday night as the Habs managed to beat the Rangers who were sitting many of their top regulars in preparation for the postseason.
The losing streak is now approaching a season-long mark as Montreal had some defensive struggles over the past seven days. However, they also ‘gained’ ground at one end of the standings, making for an interesting final week of the season.
After an absolutely beautiful tribute to the late Guy Lafleur, the Habs were unable to snap their losing skid as they dropped Sunday night’s contest by a 5-3 score to the visiting Boston Bruins.
Saturday’s game in Ottawa was a chippy affair early on while a two-minute stretch in the second period proved costly for the Habs as they allowed four goals over that timeframe en route to a 6-4 loss.
Thursday night was a strange game as both teams could gain more by losing the contest. In the end, the Flyers were able to beat Carey Price a little too easily as they put up six goals, too much for the Habs to overcome as they loss 6-3 in what can only be described as a sloppy affair.
