The Habs showed a new aggressive approach in their preseason opener which was fun to watch. It suited a large number of new faces on the roster and the Habs used it to ride a third period wave of offence to a 5-0 win.

On Monday, the Habs were declared fully healthy heading into training camp aside from Rafael Harvey-Pinard’s offseason training injury.  That didn’t last for long, however, as the team announced Thursday that Kaiden Guhle had his appendix removed and will be reevaluated in seven days.

On Tuesday, the Habs announced their roster for their upcoming training camp.  It’s a slightly smaller group than it has been in recent years with a total of 59 players taking part.

Monday was the Habs’ annual charity golf tournament, representing the unofficial kickoff to training camp which officially gets underway on Wednesday.  Here are some notes from their media availability.

Offensively, Kaiden Guhle probably isn’t going to produce enough to make a big difference on that front. But the other elements he brings to the table are valuable to the Habs and potentially valuable in fantasy leagues.
