Koivu won’t face Leafs, but might return VS Hasek and the Wings.
The Habs had a bit of a sloppy night, but the Penguins failed to capitalize on their mistakes and then Montreal took over in the third period to bring it home. Theodore was on his game yet again, and the power-play was on fire going 3 for 4 on the night.
With the injured slowly returning, the Habs had to send a few players down to respect the 23 man roster limit.
Mike Komisarek, who had yet to dress for a game this season, was one of the not so surprising cuts. The other is Gordie Dwyer.
After a slow start, the Montreal Canadiens have shifted their offense into high gear.
The Canadiens look to continue their scoring surge as they take on the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Montreal Canadiens opened their season at home in good fashion on Tuesday night. They scored early and often, while the Washington Capitals could barely muster an opposition in this their 2nd game in two nights… and with their #1 goalie on the bench.
Saku Koivu, who is recovering from a sprained knee suffered during training camp, had his first full-contact practice with the team on Monday but won’t be ready for the home opener vs. Washington.
Claude will be starting to feel like he’s auditioning for the Cirque du Soleil… because he will have to juggle his lineup once again this coming week.
