Laval had a pair of games against division rival Belleville last week, a team they’ve struggled with in the past. They were able to come back to win the first game but were unable to hold the lead in the second one as their eight-game win streak came to an end.
After extending their losing streak to six over the weekend, the Habs looked to get back in the win column on Monday afternoon. It turned out to be quite the eventful game, one Montreal was able to come out with the 7-5 victory.
Montreal tried to put extra emphasis on their defensive play this past week in an effort to try to stabilize things. They had some success on that front but still made plenty of mistakes that were costly while their offensive production grinded to a halt.
Montreal’s early-season rut continued on Saturday as a rough second period on the special teams front proved to be the difference with Toronto picking up a 4-1 victory.

Montreal took the lead early in the third period on Tuesday against Calgary but they weren’t able to hold on. Matt Coronato tied it up late and then added the winner just seconds into overtime to give the Flames the 3-2 win.
