Saturday night was a sloppy affair between the Habs and Stars with the teams combining for many turnovers in a high-speed affair. However, it was the visitors who skated away with the win as Dallas picked up the 5-2 victory.
The Habs had the lead early in the second period on Saturday in Washington but allowed three unanswered before the middle frame came to an end. That was the difference as they fell to the Capitals 3-1.
The Habs had one last chance to get in the win column on Saturday night before the preseason game to an end but came up short as they fell 3-2 in overtime to Ottawa, ending the exhibition season with a ‘perfect’ winless record.
The Habs were able to get some offensive production on Saturday night in Ottawa but once again, they weren’t able to hold onto a lead in the third period, eventually falling 5-4 in overtime.
It has undoubtedly been a tough season for the Habs but in their final game of the season on Friday night, they ended things on quite a high note, defeating Florida by a 10-2 score.
Saturday’s game in Ottawa was a chippy affair early on while a two-minute stretch in the second period proved costly for the Habs as they allowed four goals over that timeframe en route to a 6-4 loss.
Montreal was able to rediscover their scoring touch on Saturday against Washington as they scored four times. However, a tough night defensively did the Habs in as the Capitals doubled that total, skating away with the 8-4 victory.
Saturday was Montreal’s final game against Toronto this season and while they were able to keep up for small stretches, they weren’t able to overcome an early deficit as they fell 3-2.
Saturday night marked the NHL debut for Jordan Harris and the young defenceman played well as the Habs were able to pull off the comeback and beat Tampa Bay 5-4 in a shootout.
