The AHL regular season has come to an end, and like their NHL counterparts, the Hamilton Bulldogs lost a critical game right at the end that cost them home-ice advantage in the first round.
It was a week that typified the season of the Montreal Canadiens, both good and bad efforts from the goalies, a lack of timely scoring, and key players disappearing at the wrong time.
The Habs finally lost a game this week, but managed to gain overall in the standings, and find themselves teetering on the edge of the playoffs.
The Habs won all 3 of their games this week, and like every other team fighting for a playoff spot, didn’t really go up or down in the standings.
The Habs managed to keep pace this week for the most part, winning a pair out of their three critical games, but still remain 11th in the East.
The Montreal Canadiens completed the seemingly impossible this past week, actually winning one of their games, and really didn’t lose all that much more ground in the East.
In a week where gas shortages was the big newsmaker, it seems only fitting that the Habs are suffering from the exact same thing.
The offence finally woke up this week, propelling them to a pair of victories, and at least for the time being, keep them in the playoff hunt.
The ending may have been pretty, but the majority of the week for the Montreal Canadiens was absolutely abysmal.
