The goaltending was there this week for the Habs but not much else was as they dropped 2 of 3 while the Bulldogs split their pair of games despite a depleted lineup.
It was a week that can only be categorized as strange for the Montreal Canadiens. Unfortunately for the organization, the goal drought has trickled down to Hamilton as they scored just once in each of their contests.
The Habs made a pair of roster moves on Friday. First, they claimed defenceman Jay Leach off re-entry waivers from New Jersey, then activated Alex Henry off of injured reserve and immediately placed him on waivers for demotion to Hamilton.
The Habs played .500 hockey this week to finish off October with a 7-7 record while the Bulldogs only managed one win but picked up a pair of points in shootout losses.
The Habs re-discovered the winning touch this week, taking all 3 of their home games while Mike Cammalleri turned Montreal’s first hat trick of the season.
They may have played better at times, but the result was still the same this week for the Habs as they once again went winless.
The bad luck out West continued for yet another season as the Habs went 0 for Western Canada this past week, dropping to 2-3 on the season.
It was a week that started off with all kinds of anticipation but ended in sheer panic. The good news is that the Habs actually won both their games but lost a trio of players in the process.
