You have to wonder if the refs are ever going to be able to find some consistency. On the one hand, they call Ribeiro when the opponent skates over his stick.
It’s been an interesting week in Habland; two losses to only one win has some fans getting a little antsy.
There’s good news and there’s bad news with this one. The bad news is obvious – we lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs and they deserved the win, being the better team tonight.
Instead of doing a season preview this year, I’ve decided to wait a few games to see how things are going, and then project how this club is going to fare over the course of an 80 game season.
So this is what it’s like to have a really good hockey club. For too long the Canadiens have struggled to ice a competitive team, and we’re over-achieved over the last couple of years, I believe.
This is one of those nights where you watch the game and you just don’t know what to think at the end. We were up, were the better of the two teams, then we sunk into oblivion for the third.
Since I’ve been receiving a good bit of mail for each piece that I’ve put together, I’ve come to the decision that it’s time to put together a weekly column to answer some of the questions and comment on some of the things mentioned.
I’m not sure anyone would have predicted us coming out of the first three games, with two against massive rivals, with six points.
Second win in a row, and it’s certainly a great way to start the season, even if the wins weren’t done in the most convincing fashion.
