There are those who watch the Canadiens who felt that Montreal just wasn’t getting the bounces lately, and that’s the major reason they weren’t winning games.
It’s hard to put forth an enthusiastic effort when the team you’re covering fails to do so on the ice.
Personally, I’ve had enough. When Mike Ribeiro comes out and tells the Journal de Montreal that there wouldn’t be as many problems in Montreal if Ryder finished more of Ribeiro’s good passes, well, that’s classless,
I’m pleased to see that Ribeiro and company managed to actually have a good game tonight.
Other than the Senators, I’m not sure there’s another team in the league that’s capable of going into a game expecting to lose, and not get exactly what they were expecting.
Let’s start with the bright spots first. Ribeiro, ostensibly posted to the fourth line actually played a solid enough game.
I can only hope that those of you who were watching this game got smart after a period and a half and went to do something useful.
The game had about as much rhythm as a spastic drummer and as much action for two periods as a pimply 14-year old adolescent, but in the end a win is a win.
The unfortunate thing about tonight is not that we lost the game, it’s the way we lost it.
