HabsWorld.net --

After sending Rafael Harvey-Pinard down to Laval on Friday, the Habs added some reinforcements for their upcoming road trip on the West Coast, announcing the recalls of Owen Beck and Logan Mailloux.

Beck got into two games last month but was played out of position on the left wing of the fourth line.  He is in the midst of a solid rookie season with the Rocket though, notching 11 goals and 16 assists in 41 games.  That helped him become an injury replacement for Joshua Roy at the AHL All-Star Classic.

As for Mailloux, it’s also his second stint of the season with Montreal after getting into five games with them in October.  He did well offensively in those outings with three points but struggled considerably defensively, resulting in his return to Laval.  Mailloux’s numbers are down a bit compared to his rookie-season numbers but he still has nine goals and 13 helpers in 36 games while losing some of his power play time with the organization trying to prioritize his defensive improvement.

It’s probably no coincidence that Beck and Mailloux are the ones coming up as they’re Laval’s two representatives at the All-Star festivities.  That event is being held in California on Sunday and Monday so speculatively, the two will be sent back down on Sunday if they’re not needed against Anaheim and then will likely be recalled again for the back-to-back set that begins in San Jose on Tuesday.
