HabsWorld Podcast – Episode 113

Episode 62 of the HabsWorld podcast

Although the Habs are off to a rough beginning to this season, the HabsWorld podcast crew returned to talk about Les Canadiens. Host Norm Szcyrek was joined by cohosts Sean Cayouette and Jonathan Rebelo to discuss Montreal’s games, players, a few NHL topics, and share a lot of laughs. This podcast was recorded on the evening of November 14, 2024.

We have a short roster of topics including:

– The good and bad about the Habs start to this season
– Does Montreal’s head coach need an NHL-experienced assistant?
– How long will it take Kirby Dach to regain his form?
– Does Jake Evans have a future past this season in Montreal?
– Can Owen Beck become the next Phillip Danault?
– Laval is off to their best start dominating the AHL. Is it prudent to leave their players alone to develop into winners, or should players be called up to help struggling Canadiens players like Cayden Primeau?
– Juraj Slafkovsky’s game has been anguishing so far. Would Montreal have been better off drafting center Logan Cooley in 2022?
– Early 2025 draft prospects discussed
– Other NHL players (defenceman, goalies) available on waivers, but not selected by Montreal. Why doesn’t the management try to help themselves with waiver selections?
– Power play and penalty killing are together still strong, but the team’s 5-on-5 play has been terrible. What can be done to improve it?
– Talk about Shea Weber’s induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and what other inductee was not deserving. Discussing other players fitting to be inducted, and upcoming players like Carey Price for next year.
– Great season so far by Brendan Gallagher. Does he deserve a move up to one of the top two lines?
