In our next group of prospects, we have a collection that was relatively untested at the professional level heading into the season. Some are already established with the Habs while others might not be far away from doing so.
After a rough outing on Saturday, the Habs followed up with another tough night against Detroit on Tuesday. David Perron scored twice for the Red Wings which was more than enough for them as they left Montreal with a decisive 5-0 victory.
The road hasn’t been kind to Laval this season which made their Western road trip even more daunting. However, with three straight victories last week, they’ve put themselves in control of their playoff destiny once again.
The stretch run is well underway for the Habs. They managed to pick up three points last week but their performances slipped as the week went on with a pair of ugly losses to cap it off.
The month of April got off to a rough start for the Habs as on Saturday, Carolina came to town and dominated throughout the game, eventually skating away with an easy 3-0 victory.
The Habs have signed another one of their college prospects, announcing on Friday that they’ve signed goaltender Jakub Dobes to a two-year, entry-level deal. The contract will begin next season.
The Habs were unable to prevent Florida from sweeping the season series on Thursday night as the Panthers came in on the second half of a back-to-back set and skated away with a 5-2 victory.
While Laval still has a bit of time left, they failed to finish up strong on home ice, giving them some more work to do to get back into the playoff picture. However, their road trip has gotten off to a good start at least.
After beating Buffalo on Monday, the Habs looked to make it three straight wins on Tuesday in Philadelphia. It was tied for most of the game but the Flyers scored twice late to secure the 3-2 victory.
