The Canadiens hosted the Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre for the first time this season on Saturday night, and outshot them 34-22 but were outscored 3-1 as the Habs had neither solid defence nor lights-out goaltending to bail them out.

Prior to Saturday’s game against Toronto, the Habs announced a sizable group of cuts from training camp.  Not counting the four players waived earlier in the day, the team trimmed their camp roster by 26.

With a big list of cuts expected tomorrow with Laval’s training camp starting on Monday, the Habs signalled who four of those will be as they placed forwards Lucas Condotta and Mitchell Stephens plus defensemen Nicolas Beaudin and Brady Keeper on waivers on Saturday.

In a game that was hard to watch due to the complete lack of cohesiveness on both sides of the puck, the Habs made it interesting in the final minutes before ultimately coming up short in a 2-1 loss.
