The month of March got off to a good start for the Habs as they picked up five of six points. However, the biggest story of the past week once again came on the coaching front with another change being made.
The Habs went into Saturday night hoping that they could get some revenge on Winnipeg after losing in overtime on Thursday. Mission accomplished as the offence sprung to life, putting up seven goals in a 7-1 victory.

The Habs and Jets exchanged momentum, chances, goals, big hits, dirty plays, and words between whistles all night long. But in the end, Winnipeg once again prevailed in overtime, winning 4-3 on Thursday night.

Following Tuesday’s victory against Ottawa, the Canadiens made another coaching change as goalie coach Stephane Waite was relieved of his duties. Sean Burke has been named Montreal’s Director of Goaltending and will serve as his replacement.
It was far from a perfect game from the Habs but their power play came to life on Tuesday night, scoring twice in three opportunities to lead them to a 3-1 victory over Ottawa.
Laval’s lengthy homestand to start the season wrapped up last week with a four-game set against Manitoba. While they were the better team in all four games, they still only managed to come away with two victories.

March 1st is the first day that players can sign contracts that begin in 2021-22 and the Habs did just that with Gianni Fairbrother, inking the defenceman to a three-year, entry-level contract.
