The Canadiens finished off 2018 strongly, posting a 10-5-0 record during the month of December, and to the surprise of many find themselves holding onto the final Wild Card spot entering the new year.
The return of captain Shea Weber brought stability to the back end and coincided with a return to form for Carey Price (who now appears to be ready to return to the lineup after missing the last week) making the Habs a much tougher team to score on. Meanwhile, with seven players posting 10 points or more, the offensive depth was impressive and Phillip Danault answered some critics with a strong month and lead the club in scoring.
