The Montreal Canadiens have started the 2016-17 season the same way they started the 2015-16 one – on an absolute tear. The Habs had a sparkling 8-0-1 record for the first month of the season and are among the league leaders in both goals and against. The club has been getting contributions from all four lines and the defensive units as well. Not surprisingly a healthy Carey Price has led to a stellar goaltending performance, with UFA signing Al Montoya performing admirably as well.

There are plenty of heroes to choose from this month, with just about every player contributing to a tremendous October.
