The 2013 World Hockey Championships are being held in Sweden and Finland this
season for the second year in a row. Although the Habs are presently in
the NHL playoffs, there still are a pair of players who will represent the
organization in the tournament. We will be tracking the game-by-game
progress for Tim Bozon (France) and Danny Kristo (USA) who are both making their
debuts in the tourney.
For the second straight year, each team will play seven preliminary round
games. The top four teams in each pool will move on to the quarterfinals
while the bottom two squads will be relegated to Division I Group A next season.
May 11 update: Raphael Diaz (SUI), Alex Galchenyuk (USA), and Tomas
Plekanec (CZE) all have joined their respective countries.
May 13 update: P.K. Subban (CAN) will join Team Canada once
quarterfinal action begins. However, he has not yet officially registered.
