After an embarassing 7-3 loss in Halifax, the Canadiens will get another chance against their arch-nemesis Bruins. Once gain, Jacques Martin seems poised to use this occasion to evaluate many of the players competing for one of the bottom forward spots.
Brock Trotter and Michael Blunden have not stood out thus far, but they will once again have an opportunity to make their case tonight. Both were considered contenders for the 13th forward position at the opening of camp. Michael Bournival, who was acquired in the Ryan O’Byrne deal, will see his first pre-season action while Brendan Gallagher will once again have a chance to wow Canadiens management. The Vancouver Giant winger has generated his fair share of chances, ranking 3rd in pre-season play with 11 shots on goal.
On the backend, the offensively saavy Raphael Diaz and former Dallas Star Jeff Woywitka look to continue their fight for postionning on the orgnization’s depth chart. Carey Price is slated to play the whole contest. Puck drops at 7:30 PM at the Bell Centre and the game is televised on RDS.
