HabsWorld.net --
It didn’t take very long for Pierre Gauthier to
make some noise as the new GM of the Habs. First, the Canadiens promoted
defenceman P.K Subban from the Hamilton Bulldogs before acquiring Dominic Moore
from Florida in exchange for a 2011 2nd round draft pick. Ben Maxwell was
sent down to Hamilton to make room under the bonus cushion to permit the deal to
be approved by the NHL.
Moore, a 3rd rounder of the Rangers in 2000, was a late signee to the Panthers this season, joining the team on October
5th. As a result, he struggled at the start of the season picking up just
1 point in his first 8 games. On the season, he has 8 goals and 9 assists
with 35 PIMS with a -7 rating in 47 games. He’s been struggling as of late
as well with just 1 assist in his last 11 games; he is -3 in that span.
Contract wise, Moore is a pending UFA making $1.1 million. With the Habs
well over the cap already, it certainly doesn’t help in that regard unless other
moves are forthcoming.
