Not to many great ratings tonight as most of the team slept through tonights action.

Saku Koivu ( C+) – Sure he had an assist in the closing minutes of the game and was the only Canadiens player to score in the shootout but Koivu had a bad night.

Chris Higgins ( B) Scored a goal and led by example throwing his weight around and had 4 shots. He did have a few bad shifts but helped his line the most tonight.

Michael Ryder ( F) His worst game of the season, 1 shot and his effort on the power play were abysmal. He finished the night on the “4th line”. I wonder where he will play Thursday.

Tomas Plekanec ( C) Worked well on the power play but his even strength play needs to be better, a good place to start would be his face-offs 33% wont cut it.

Alex Kovalev (A)- Best forward on the ice tonight, drew a couple of penalty’s scored a goal added and assist and had a great shift on the penalty kill. Too bad he did not score in the shootout.

Guillaume Latendresse ( C) He was physical and his net presence was key to the 2nd period power play goal but he needs shorter shifts and better positioning to play on the top lines.

Bryan Smolinski (C-) Nothing impressive about his game tonight, and his 70 seconds on the power play much of it 5 on 3 were atrocious.

Mikhail Grabovski ( C) He had an excellent shift in overtime but that’s about it.

Mathieu Dandenault (B) Continuing to work hard and was very perceptive at coving for pinching defenseman tonight but who really wants to see this guy end up on the “1st line” EVER.

Kyle Chipchura (C-) Chipchura had a bad game 1 for 8 in the face-off circle and a -2 rating, his only saving grace was his penalty killing and work down low in the offensive zone.

Tom Kostopoulos ( B-) Great 8 minutes from him tonight, he was physical.

Steve Begin (B+) Excellent work on the penalty kill and a massive shot block when everyone else had dead legs. But same story as Mathieu for Steve he does not have the skill set to play with players like Kovalev and Plekanec.

Andrei Markov ( C) Not his best game, little control of the power play and his gaff led to the Thrahers first goal.

Mike Komisarek ( C) Not his usual self either as he had just 2 hits and was a -2 on the evening.

Roman Hamrlik (A-) Best defenseman for the Canadiens on this evening another mistake free night.

Patrice Brisebois ( B) Led the team in blocked shots with three and did a good job with Hamrlik getting the puck out of the zone quickly.

Mark Streit ( B+) Played 20 very good minutes and mad some slick passes. Too bad none of his 2 bombs from the point could result in any offence.

Josh Gorges ( C) Well everyone will remember his give away but other than that he had a good game and moved the puck well.

Power Play (C-) You would think on a night when the Canadiens go 2 for 7on the power play that would be a good thing…. Nope they had 90 seconds of 5 on 3 time on which they failed to score, that is unacceptable.

Penalty Kill (A) Great night for the Habs PK thanks to great a great collapsing box and Carey Price.

Coach Carbonneau ( B) Not sure what else he could have done the players were just not there for him tonight.
