The 2007 Under-20 World Junior Championships take place between December
26th, 2006 and January 5th, 2007. The Montreal Canadiens will have a total of 4
players representing 4 different countries.

The most notable of the four players is
19-year-old Carey Price, who is looking to win the starting job between the pipes
for Team Canada. Sergei Kostitsyn will be another player to watch as he suits up
for Team Belarus and attempts to lead his team past the first round of play.
Finally, right-winger Juraj Mikus will represent Slovakia while defenseman Pavel
Valentenko will play for Team Russia.

-Had points in all situations: power-play, short-handed, and even-strength.

-Picked up 27 PIMS in his final game of the
relegation round, a game that Belarus lost 9-0 to Slovakia. 25 of those penalty
minutes came late in the game when Kostitsyn cross checked a Slovakian player to
the head/neck area.

-Second most penalized player with 33PIMS.

-Managed points on a Belarus team that
finished dead last in the tournament.

Proved
to be a consistent goal-scorer for Slovakia, a team that had a lot of trouble
finding the net through the tournament.

-Tied for tournament lead with 5 goals.

-Scored 3 of his 5 goals on the power-play,
and 1 short-handed.

-Helped Slovakia avoid relegation when he
scored 2 goals and an assist in a 9-0 win over Belarus.

power-play minutes.

-Has drawn comparison to fellow Habs’
defensive prospect Alexei Emelin, a tenacious defenseman with offensive upside.
