Biography
Throughout his career, Ryder has been the forgotten one. He wasn’t drafted in junior, and despite playing well there, dropped to the 8th round in 1998, a year in which he was projected to go in the 2nd round. From there, he was shuffled throughout various minor league teams, failing to make a mark until 2002-03 in Hamilton. Because of his waiver status, the Canadiens had no choice but to keep him this past year, and they’re happy he did, as he notched 25 goals and 63 points in his rookie season, finishing 2nd in Calder voting. |
