Last week, the Hamilton Bulldogs couldn’t buy a goal to save their lives. This week? They couldn’t stop the puck. Despite scoring 13 goals in 4 games, the Bulldogs came away with a single W to show for it, despite having NHL netminder Cristobal Huet between the pipes.

Lineup Notes:
The Bulldogs had pretty much a full lineup this week, except for D Danny Syvret, who remains with the Edmonton Oilers. Cristobal Huet was with the team this week, but was recalled on Sunday. Yann Danis has been sent down, finally ending the goalie carousel.
D-man up to the Habs?
With the Habs opting not to appeal the suspension to Andrei Markov, that leaves the team with 6 d-men, one of which, Sheldon Souray, is not 100%. If he is unable to go, Montreal will have to recall a defender from the Bulldogs. Ron Hainsey will have to clear waivers if he is recalled anytime before the trade deadline, while Andre Benoit and James Sanford are not under contract with the team. That leaves J-P Cote, Johnathan Aitken, Jeff Paul, and Andrew Archer as eligible callups. Stay tuned.
Cheers and Jeers:
Cheers go out to:
The offense…this week, they came out much better, scoring 13 goals, and outshooting their opponents all 4 games.
W’s Brad Winchester and Andrei Kostitsyn, who had breakout games vs Grand Rapids. They needed to step up their production, and they did so…at least for 1 game.
Jeers go out to:
G Cristobal Huet, I know an ACL injury is tough (I know it all too well), but an 0-4 record in the AHL doesn’t exactly have Canadiens management full of confidence as your conditioning streak ends.
PP units, they woke up late, but going 2/22 in the first 2 games this week cost them big time.
Goalie Zone:
Instability simply is not a good thing, and it showed this week. With so many goalies going in and out, there’s no opportunity for some rhythm. Here’s hoping that the long-term return of Danis can help here.
