The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Florida Panthers 4-3 in overtime. The Habs blew a 3-0 lead in the 3rd, but Saku Koivu scored with just 4 seconds left in OT to win it for the Habs. The recently recalled Yann Danis made his first ever start at the Bell Centre, and earned the win while Roberto Luongo suffered the loss for the Panthers. Alexei Kovalev (knee), Jan Bulis (shoulder), and Radek Bonk (groin) were scratches for the Habs, while Sheldon Souray (foot) made his return to the lineup after missing Saturday’s game in Toronto. C Maxim Lapierre also made his NHL debut tonight, playing 3:04 with a -1 rating, 1 hit, and 1/2 faceoff success rate.
