The 2005 NHL Entry Draft will take place July 30th at 12pm est in Ottawa. It will be the 52nd annual entry draft. the first NHL Amateur Draft being held at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal on June 5, 1953. The Canadiens will first pick 5th overall (thanks to the draft lottery), the Habs hold picks in all 7 rounds of the draft. Sidney Crosby is the consensus and obvious pick to go #1 overall in the draft to the Pittsburgh Penguis, American defenseman Jack Johnson is a good choice to go #2 overall, but after that its hard to predict what will happen.
