He may not see a minute of action, but at least Habs goaltender Jose Theodore will be wearing the maple leaf on his jersey tonight. Theodore will replace Roberto Luongo on the bench as backup to Martin Brodeur when Team Canada takes on Richard Zednik and Team Slovakia tonight in World Cup action.
Theodore, named to the team earlier in the summer in place of the injured Ed Belfour, received a fair amount of playing time in the pre-tournament exhibition games, looking impressive.
On the Slovakia side, Habs sniper Richard Zednik will play alongside the likes of Marian Gaborik, Miro Satan, and Marian Hossa. Zednik had surgery in July to deal with a hernia, which caused him to miss some pre-tournament exhibition action, but will undoubtedly be in the lineup for today’s game.
