The Montreal Canadiens announced today that they have signed restricted free agent centre Radek Bonk to a new 3 year deal.  Complete terms of the deal were undisclosed, but it has become publicized that he will make $3.15 million this season.

Bonk was acquired by the Habs on June 26th along with Cristobal Huet in a 3 team deal involving the Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Mathieu Garon and a 3rd round draft pick.

A native of Krnov, Czechoslovakia, the 28-year-old Bonk was the Senators first-round selection and the 3rd overall pick in the 1994 draft. He spent the last ten seasons with the Senators, collecting 399 points (152 goals, 247 assists) in 689 games. Bonk is expected to fill the 3rd line centre position on the Canadiens.
