Jason Ward has completed his conditioning stint in Hamilton and will rejoin the Canadiens in time for Saturday night’s game in Carolina. Ward has registered 2 points in 12 games for the Habs so far this season and is expected to be playing on the 4th line when he rejoins the lineup. Ward missed 19 games due to a broken ankle suffered on November 1st in a game against the New York Rangers. Ward collected 3 assists in 2 games with the Bulldogs.
Donald Audette has struggled ever since he sustained a horrific wrist injury in 2001 and he still hasn’t been able to get back to his previous form. He will be placed on waivers once again and has likely played his last game for the Canadiens.
“He’s had some difficult periods and he realizes it,” Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey said. “His game hasn’t been what he would like it to be. He thinks he is still capable of playing.”
“If he isn’t picked up, we have the possibility of loaning him to a team in the American League, whether it’s to our Hamilton farm team or to another team.”
