Strengths
A butterfly goalie with quick lateral movements. Fast reflexes, and strong on
the puck down low, Michaud is an intelligent person who uses his speed and
quickness to his advantage.
Weaknesses
Small goalie that tends to go down too quickly, thus leaving him exposed up
top. Must develop better reads, use his angles better, challange the shooters
more aggressively, and learn not to drop so quickly.

HW Updates, by Dan Linn
2003-2004 Season Review – Michaud is another free agent that
was brought in to add depth and even had the chance to dress in one NHL period.
After playing in the QMJHL, Michaud was able to play in the AHL and ECHL this
year, even though he could have played one more season with the Drakkar. Michaud
started off well in Columbus, but had some rough games as well, lucky for him an
injury to both Hamilton goalies got him a call up and some decent playing time
as well.
January 2004 – With an injury to veteran goalie Eric
Fichaud, the rookie Michaud was called up and put into action when J-F
Damphousse injured his thumb. In just his third game ever in the American
league, Michaud was able to get his first win and he did it big by getting back
to back shutouts.
October 2003 – Another free agent pickup from the 2001
season, Michaud has graduated from the QMJHL, a league well known for producing
a large number of quality goalies, where he has made his professional hockey
debut in the ECHL for the Columbus Cottonmouths. After being named the runner up
for back stopper of the week in the opening week of the season, Michaud has had
some problems stopping the puck of late.
